I’ve always thought that India is just one of those countries that you have to go and visit, no matter where you are from in the world. I remember a couple of years ago seeing a film set in Delhi and thinking to myself that I just had to see the place in order to understand it. I think it must be about as far removed from anything we have in the western world as is possible. That is quite amazing when you think how much the British have had to do with Delhi. When you visit the place, there is actually the old Delhi, and the new Delhi, and the new Delhi was built by the English. There is apparently an amazing difference between the two Delhi’s but they are obviously an amalgamation of each other and it is easy to explore between the two.

I was desperate to see the place, and I saved up for nearly two years to be able to afford to get out there. Obviously once you get out there it is a very cheap place to visit, so I just had to make sure I got some cheap Delhi flights when I travelled.

Cheap flights weren’t that hard to come by in the end given that I was prepared to trawl the internet to find the best one and I soon had my holiday booked. I would be spending two weeks in Delhi, and I couldn’t wait to experience the place for myself.
