The tour in Paris

I have always been a massive fan of the Tour de France which I think is one of the most exciting events in the sporting calendar. I know that in recent years the sport of cycling has been somewhat rocked with the seemingly widespread use of doping agents, but to be honest because this seems to be across the board, it doesn’t change the closeness of the battle and it remains a fascinating spectator sport.

This year I have taken the plunge and decided to go to Paris to see the final stage of the tour! Who knows what the situation will be with the race at that stage – the event might be all but over – but the chance to see the riders finish the race passing under the Champs Elysee is just too good to miss! I discovered that there are a lot of cheap hotels in Paris so I booked myself into a nice three star place near to the centre of Paris for a few days sp that I could make the most of the opportunity and see a bit of Paris too. I am particularly looking forward to being able to see The Notre Dame Cathedral and In know that I will love spending time in the famous Left Bank – I am a massive fan of Ernest Hemingway’s ‘A Moveable Feast’ and the book is predominantly set in Paris’ Left Bank, so it will be a wonderful chance to retrace some of his steps!

I am so excited that I get to see the Tour de France, and I get to do the Tour of Hemingway!
